AP expiry doesn't mean out of status. If paroled into US and the I-485 is in process means no problem.
But if you are on EAD and not renewed EAD means, you can't work till you have received a new EAD.

Maybe some of us might be aware on the importance of umbilical chord and cord blood. They are life savers as they contain stem cells which can be used to treat hematopoietic and genetic disorders.
Let me tie this to an important activity that happens in southern part of india (maybe its prevalent too in entire india - not sure though).
Whenever a baby is born, the umbilical chord is cut and a clip is put up in the baby's navel end with the umbilical chord part extending out. In a matter of few days the external portion will heal and fall off.
This is then taken to a goldsmith who in turn stuffs this into a small golden (or silver depending upon one's capacity) and seals them air tight (mind this air tight) using fire. this is then tied along with a thread and is generally worn around the hips of babies.
Maybe our ancestors knew that this part of tissue might help in healing some disorders for the babies. Who knows better than them. Many of us indians would have worn this without much aware of its importance.

The senate just voted on the cloture motion. The motion is agreed to and the bill proceed further. The bill got 64 yes and 35 no. The senate majority leader Reid of Nevada is expected to choose the "clay pigeon" option.
The option will give the expedite passage of this bill from the Senate.

They certainly have. We will not see dates becoming C ever again.
They may also come up with a new system where the DOS bulletin is only for USCIS use and we will file 485s based on another bulletin released by USCIS, which will be a more accurate reflection of what is happening inside USCIS.

You will need to file an immigrant petition (Form I-130) for your child and wait for its approval. Your child will have to wait overseas until his/her priority is current. Thereafter, there will be some form of consular processing and the child will obtain an immigrant visa. Thereafter you can bring your child to the USA. It is a long process......

They will process applications based on receipt date. But approval will happen only if your PD is current. That means if
CASE A with PD 2003
CASE B with PD 2005
CASE C with PD 2007
Say all file in July and if dates gets retrogess some time in OCT or before to 2006.

I agree. UnitedNations has been tirelessly providing inputs to a lot of GC cases especially the 3 year degree issues on http://www.immigration.com. His vast knowledge in these areas can surely serve as a valuable knowledge base for potential and current GC applicants. I have been following his posts on http://www.immigratio.com for around 2 years now and his inputs has benefited me in take proactive measures for my employment based GC appliction. I received my GC on 08/15/08. PD 03/2006. My spouse did not. The dates have since moved on and it seems until July/Aug 2009 there can be no hope. She has an EAD until 10/2010and is employed on its basis. Does changing my job effect her I-485 application ? Will I still need to file an AC21 ?

I am not sure, if you can go in person to houston, mine was sent to washington dc and I got it in 10 days. I had tough time for a different case.
Try to avoid Houston, you will not get any response or anyhelp, I guess they are sleeping for ever.
We cannot get the passport renewed anywhere, if you are in south most probably you need to get it renewed from Houston. So any one ............who went in person for non-emergency case.

Yes pending 485 at TSC.
The IRS can't produce transcripts older than 3 years.
There's a form you can fill out and pay $39/return and takes up to 60 days, but even on this one it says: "records older than 7 years may not be available as it's admissable by law that they be distroyed".

I am not sure whether to go for EB2 filing in PERM or wait one more year to file i485 (hope PD will reach 2003 september by next year october ). Even if i start EB2 perm now it's going to take at least one year to clear labor and i140 (if every thing smooth).
It should be worth it, because you didn't indicate the company would revoke your eb3+I140 approval.. Why not give it a try?
And if you start EB2 perm now, if everything's smooth, you may be cleared within 6-7 months (say, premium I140 is allowed for Eb2 then)

Waste of time. How many PhD's are there as compared to the others? There is already EB1/EB2-NIW for them

I had applied for labour in 2001 and also applied for i 140 and i 485 in 2002 .My h1 had exausted 7 years and since my i 94 was becoming in valid i was suggested by my lawyer to either stay here in usa without job and wait till i get the reciept notice and ead from uscis .Since financially my situation was very tight with a baby on the way .i decided to leave for india .Now i am here again since last 4 years .When i was in india i asked my lawyer if we can do any thing like counsalar processing etc (here in this case i had paid huge amount to the lawyer,i was paying for my gc process ).the lawyer told me that nothing can be done as he has withdrawn the i 140 .
Now after 2 years i came (or had to come back) to usa .my new employer started the ggc process this year .Since i needed full information of my previous process to complete the forms i contacted old lawyer .he send me the papers and i was so shocked to see that they did not withdraw any thing my i 140 was approved 4 months after i left and my fingerprinting is due since 2002 .I just wish my lawyer had told me the truth .we could have cp or come back .
it took a day for me to overcome the frustration of what had happened .
and now my major concern is 1.that with one case pending ,i dont know how it is going to effect the new case
2.is there any thing i can do to reopen my old case .

For instance my son has graduated college and now working, paying taxes and contributing to the US economy. And I am sure that most of you here who have college age kids are sending them to colleges and sometimes even paying out-of-state tuition to boot.

Better check with your lawyer. Becuase when you apply for 485 and get approved your wife's H4 status becomes illegal. So don't know exactly about H1 or H4 on advanced parole. Lawyer is the best person for your case.

Going to India is definitely better. Especially since it is going to be your first H1b stamping.
If you register for a Canada stamping, a message pops-up saying that if it is your 1st H1b stamping, then go to home country.
As long as your docs are in order, you shouldn't have any problem in India.
