I appreciate your spirit, although I don't agree with your belief that you own the thread or the messageboards by the virtue of your creating a thread.
What I posted was a plea to introspect (more so as the first anniversary of the D.C. rally approaches) - it was in no way dismissive of your efforts, or an effort to ridicule or demean your thread or its spirit.
Not sure why you felt the need to be rude - being firm and clear about your goals is a sign of leadership, and being blunt may get you some more brownie points. However, brash/rude behavior is not a substitute for that clarity and firmness, imho - particularly with those who may be working towards the same goals as you are (albeit coming at it from a different angle).

Applying EB PD but using Visa number from FB Quota would be a awesome. Not sure what complications this may cause on the FB side. This seems like a visa-leak (like memory leak) scenario from FB. This will put GC Holders dependents at a disadvantaged position as compared to us who don't have GC yet because EB PD will always be ahead to FB PD due to 'Visa-Leak'.

I don't think its much different from what is posted. Only one time contributions are being considered for this event.
I have a shared doc with StarSun and all known ones have been accounted for the above total.
Only one month left to achieve our funding goals.
It does look like there are only a few hundred (~200) willing to actively participate for the good of others. About 0.04 % of all EB2, EB3 filers.
One possible strategy.......
Dividing 50,000 into that, it will be great if you hardworking people, fighting for legal immigrants, can touch about $200-400 each,
while the rest watch from the sidelines and cheer for us :), and also debate & analyze spiritedly.....

Ok. My bad. I was using lame duck as an example. I'm not hoping anything on the lame duck session.
My question is/was, how long it takes for a bill(passed) to be effective. Is there a timeline within which President has to sign it? Once he signs it how long does it take become effective?
PS: I was guessing, I'm not sure of the 90 days time period.

I am in same situation who has sept 10th ND from TSC , no FP for me or my wife. I did open a SR and i got a response letter saying that either your FP has expired or clearance has not been received.. will send one by mail soon.
It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. Second time she said no FP scheduled and I asked about security check and she said its still pending. Imagine same IO giving inconsistent information regarding my security check. I am not even sure to believe anything they say anymore. I am not even sure if they really look it up or not.

Well, I am a legal immigrant from Mexico, I have an MBA, my race is white (100% European as are more than 10 million Mexicans) and I do not wear a "sombrero".
I thought that this forum was for us all to help each other and not enter these types of useless arguments. I cannot believe that the posters of these racist messages, who are Indian, are falling into the same sterotypes that Americans fall into in regards to India. You are doing that with Mexico. I have been to India, I urge you to go to Mexico and see for yourselves what the country is like before passing judgment.
Mexico has 100 million people vs. India's 1 Billion plus, yet Mexico's GDP is essentially equal to India's (India = 775,410, Mexico=768,437). All the people that you see immigrating here are of course the poor and uneducated who can come here in large numbers because of the simple fact that (hello people!) we share a land border with the U.S.A. (What would happen if India shared a land border with the U.S.A. - One can only imagine! Instead of 7 million illegal Mexicans, we would have 400 million illegal Indians here!) If we see the history H1B and GC numbers were never increased except 2004 20k inpast 15 years In 2000 it was increasd temporarlily for 4 years.Also EB numbers were never increased except temporary reliefs.If it is increased by Skill bill in current form that is really an acheivement. If there is a possiblity they may increase H1B because that is temorary visa(But in reallity not) and GC numbers may remain same. But if increased to 115k then also cap will be reached in another 1 month because there are more number of Desi companies than number of H1Bs. Thats why they are asking exemptions for MS people and 20% adjustment for every year. We have to wait and see whether congress fall on this trap to do this without analysing the impact.

1. We applied labor in 2002/3/4. Therefore, GC should be PD based.
2. We applied labor in 2001/2/3 but had to reapply in 2005/6, therefore GC should be based on number of years in US.
3. Govt should "end retrogression" and give green cards to everyone.
I can understand the rationale of all three groups: they want things to work the way it will benefit them. In some way the rationale of first two groups can be justified also.
What I am having trouble with third "end retrogression". What does it exactly mean? There are only limited number of GC's per country. Are you talking about merging all the countries into one queue? I am not sure if ROW applicants will like that because that might set them back. Are we talking about raising the per country caps? How do you accomplish this "end retrogression".

No one's trying to cut the line here. If there's any, it's purely procedural and has nothing to do with 'Ending Retrogression'. With or without retrogression someone might get an RFE, get stuck in namecheck etc. Ending retrogression provides earlier PDs better chances of getting GC faster (if dates are 'C' you get it the month you clear RFE, Name check etc.)
Just posting here isn't helping you cause. Instead you guys can get together and start sending flowers to USCIS director requesting him to publish the complete list of GC applications approved every year. It's the first step in enforcing FIFO. Right now there is no such list and no way of knowing who got their GC out of turn. And while you guys are at it also send some flowers to FBI to clear Namechecks FIFO, to DOL to approve PERM petitions FIFO etc.
Go spend those $50 at Flowers.com folks. Start writing to Senators, collect money, do the lobbying etc. Who's stopping you?
Or do you want logiclife, pappu and rest of the IV core to do it PRO BONO for you?

GCby3000 u wud still apply under Eb1 and Eb2 depending on the job requirement and ur personal skills. It is just that u will be Exempt from the Cap i.e. the yearly quota for GCs, IF you have an advanced degree in the US.
Now you can be an Eb2 even without a masters in the US, if you have outstanding management ability and ur job demands that kind of management skill level. In that case the yearly quota cap would apply to u, but if u have an advanced degree in the US the cap wud not apply to u.
What degrees are considered as advanced degrees in the SKIL bill maybe some on here can clarify. Is it the same definition as the STEM or is it different?

When I was on H-1, that time one couldn't extend beyond 6 years, no matter what. Now, case is much different. There are so many working for the employer just on the basis of I-140 alone after 6 years of H1.
